Wheels for Freedom

Providing Shopmobility services in Dorset and mobility at public events

“Wheels for Freedom”, registered charity number 1015680, was established in 1993.  It is partly funded by the town centres where we operate, membership subscriptions, donations and the very popular Out n’ about service.  Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

What do we do?

"Wheels for Freedom" is a charity dedicated to giving freedom of movement by loaning mobility scooters, power-chairs and manual wheelchairs to any person who has difficulty walking.

We operate in five Dorset towns and members of our charity have unlimited use of our scooters, wherever they live. Day visitors are also very welcome to use any of our services.

We also provide mobility services at major shows and public events across Southern England with our Out n’ About service.  As well as helping those with limited walking ability the opportunity to enjoy the events, it also raises much needed funds for our charity.

Members of “Wheels for Freedom” are able to use our town centres services at a vastly reduced rate and Full members are also entitled to a discount at our Out n’ about events.  For information about membership rates please visit the “Bits and Pieces” section.

Latest news - We are delighted to announce 2 new venues for the Out n’ about service - The Royal Bath and West show and the Firle Garden show.  We regret to announce that the Poole operation will reduce to a 5 day week from January 13th (Closed every Friday).  This will be reviewed at the end of March.
