Wheels for Freedom

Providing Shopmobility services in Dorset and mobility at public events

If travelling by bus - From the bus station walk along the pathway between the public convenience and the Fish and Chip shop.  Opposite you is the multi storey car park.  If you walk to the right hand side of the car park you will see a ramp which leads you to our office.

If travelling by car - Follow the signs on the town centre roundabouts which show a wheelchair with a shopping basket.  When you enter the car park take the left hand lane and follow it around and go up one level.  If you do not have a disabled blue badge we can issue a parking permit for the day (Please note that car park charges are payable).

Poole is a tourist resort, attracting visitors with its large natural harbour, history, the Poole Arts Centre and Blue Flag beaches. The town has a busy commercial port with cross-Channel freight and passenger ferry services. The headquarters of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) are located in Poole, and the Royal Marines have a base in the town's harbour. Despite their names, Poole is the home of The Arts University College at Bournemouth, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and a significant part of Bournemouth University.  During the Second World War the town was one of the main departing points for the D-Day landings of the Normandy Invasion.

The mainly flat levels in Poole centre make it an ideal base for a Shopmobility service.  Equipment may be used in the area covering Poole Park, Baiter Park, the Hospital, Civic Centre, the High Street  and Poole Quay.
